Meet the Board

Get to know your current board members who put the Riverside Pride mission in motion.

Jaemi Moore, President

I am committed to the LGBTQ+ community because as a free spirit I do not feel anyone should have to hide or live in fear. I feel we all should be treated with grace, dignity and feel safe in the place we reside. I am determined and dedicated to the Riverside Pride mission of highlighting those businesses and organizations in and around New Braunfels that are accepting of our LGBTQ+ family. I have been married to my wife for 9 years and we have been blessed with raising children and now being empty nesters. In my spare time, I love to travel, spend time with my family and 2 dogs. I am inspired by people. I enjoy learning about different cultures and religions which bring a broader understanding of our world and the essence of humanity.

Yesenia Voigt, Treasurer

I would like to see the organization grow and help get New Braunfels to become a city that is known as full of acceptance and love. In addition, I would like Riverside Pride to be a place where others can come for resources, encouragement and a sense of community. I am 46 years old, have been married for 17 years to my wonderful husband Dale, and I have 3 beautiful children: Zach, Nate, and Thalia. My son moved from New Braunfels in 2015 when he was a sophomore in high school because it was not a very accepting place, at the time there were no resources for LGBTQ+ individuals and their families. He came out officially in the middle of his Senior year as transgender, however he had come out as a lesbian his freshman year in High School.

Sarah Olsen, Secretary

If there was one thing I would want to pass on to future generations is that no matter how much you try to plan your life, there will always be a time when things don’t go as you think you wish they would , but enjoy every second of your journey. It was meant to make you smarter, stronger, better, and more empathetic. Stand up for what is right no matter who you have to stand against. Give grace freely. And love big! I am 44 years old, I’ve lived in NB since 1986 and have 2 daughters and 2 sons. I love to cook, bake, and create. I love planning parties , baking cakes and the arts, especially dance. My favorite color is black. My Favorite food is Vietnamese. I love kids and I am passionate about helping at risk teens in the LGBTQ community. I am the very proud mom of a transgender teen.

Kimberly Greene, Marketing & PR

This community is very special to me. For most of my life I was an outsider looking in, too scared to embrace my own truth. Once I finally did, I realized how beautiful and freeing it is, and don’t want anyone to have to live in that place of fear. I want to help create a safe community of love and acceptance and belonging. I love stories of people who are stronger than they look that overcome great challenges. We each have a story and we can each relate to one another as a community full of strength and tenacity. I’m inspired by YOU. I met my wife when I was in my late 30’s. I knew the minute I met her that she was everything I ever wanted and never would allow myself to have. When I met her, nothing mattered except that I, for the first time ever, felt complete. She’s my best friend, my inspiration, my strength, and my love.

Aja Edwards, Social Ambassador

I have a passion for our community because of my own personal experience. At the age of 33, I had the opportunity to serve on the New Braunfels City Council. I came out during that time. There was an effort to recall me because I was gay and was accused of “trying to corrupt our youth”. I realized then the kind of environment we still had here locally. Being a public figure at the time, I decided to get involved and use my connections to start fostering conversations and services for our LGBTQ+ community. I moved away from New Braunfels for a while to Wisconsin and while I was gone the group of people who also had a passion for this agenda took these ideas and turned it into Riverside Pride, the non profit organization it is today. Upon returning to New Braunfels, I wanted to be involved with Riverside Pride because it was an extension of what a group of us started back in 2016/17.

Marty Wright Leonard, Board Member

The LGBTQ+ community is important to me because I am a part of the community and want to make a difference. I want to advocate for children, teens, and adults to feel a sense of inclusion in the New Braunfels and surrounding communities. Being an educator, I have a natural instinct to want to help people and I believe I will be able to do so being on the board for Riverside Pride. The future for Riverside Pride is an exciting one. We have a great team and feel the need for New Braunfels and surrounding areas to provide information and resources to the LGBTQ+ community and advocates. I strongly believe Riverside Pride will grow as an organization and have a presence as a safe organization for the community. In the future I see Riverside Pride as a community organization that will be included in community events and activities.
